Hello! I’m Matthew Reaney, a seasoned graphic designer with a passion for transforming ideas into visually striking designs. My journey into design started with a love for drawing and creativity from a young age, which led me to focus on graphic design as early as my last two years of secondary school. From there, I pursued a two-year college course in graphic design before advancing to Coventry University, where I spent three years further honing my skills and earning my B.A Hons. degree. After graduating, I built my expertise through freelance work, collaborating with businesses across various industries to create impactful branding and marketing materials. Eventually, I transitioned into in-house design at the Coventry Building Society, where I have spent over 15 years refining my expertise in both print and motion design.
My approach to design is rooted in precision, problem-solving, and a deep understanding of both aesthetics and functionality. I believe that great design isn’t just about looking good—it’s about communicating a message effectively. Whether I’m developing brand identities, creating engaging marketing campaigns, or crafting motion graphics in After Effects, I focus on delivering solutions that are both visually compelling and strategically effective. I stay inspired by regularly visiting design websites like Creative Boom, keeping up with modern trends through TikTok and Instagram, and listening to The Angry Designer Podcast for industry insights and creative motivation. I thrive on the challenge of bringing concepts to life, ensuring that every piece I create serves a clear purpose with its intended audience.
Outside of design, I have a range of hobbies that keep me inspired and engaged. I’m a big gamer, often unwinding with my Playstation 5 play Planet Coaster 2 building and managing virtual themed parks and also I’m a devoted Coventry City fan, following the team through all their highs and lows. On weekends, I enjoy hunting down rare finds at local toy fairs, adding to my growing collection of vintage toys and Lego. I’m also a huge Star Wars fan, and right now, I’m crafting in-universe tokens to start playing Sabacc, the iconic card game from the galaxy far, far away.
